I was in Paris last summer for only a few hours ( I had a long layover) and as I was walking through the beautiful boulevard of St. Germaine I saw this cute little sandwich place. So as I’m going in I’m rehearsing my appalling French, I get to the counter and turns out the dude was Mexican too! 🤣
I hope the chicken was as good as this prose. Excellent writing.
Mon Dieu. Hilarious.
Thank you, Tom!
Hahaha, WTH! Them butchers are wild in baguette country. I really hope this is a true story. I loved it! 🥰
Every word of it was true! So happy you liked it!

That's amazing, and also RARE!
Best damn thing I've read in yonks.
Thank you so much, Miles!
Really fun piece!
I was waiting for the moment when he’d ask “what would you like me to do with the breast and thighs?” 🧨
It's actually a miracle that didn't happen. I don't know what I would have done!
This was delightful
Loved this. Don’t know why, but Dexter came to mind! Serial chicken killer.
Does he have a sister?
Stay tuned for Call Me By Your Pastry Chef
Imagine your heebie-jeebies when you would have asked your butcher for a chapon 🤣
This might have turned into a police report instead of a blog post 😂
Amazing writing. I felt a bit like a voyeur.
Thank you so much! In all fairness, I also felt like a voyeur at moments.
I loved this ……. Chicken is a very passionate subject for several people I know.
And, your illustrator is quite wonderful…..
Haha thanks, Amy! Chicken is indeed a VERY serious subject, apparently. And for the images—I design them with AI!
This is so good. I need to visit this butcher.
